Carl R. Wright 1925 - 2008

Carl R. Wright was born in Pittsfield. He completed his undergraduate studies at Colby, where he starred as a baseball pitcher. After graduating from Boston University School of Law, he opened his practice in Skowhegan in 1951. He resolved conflicts for working citizens of central Maine for nearly five decades.

Mr. Wright managed cases in all fields of litigation: hundreds of car, truck and motorcycle collision cases, medical malpractice, product liability, workers' compensation, and simple and complex domestic relation matters.

Mr. Wright was a co-founder of the Maine Trial Lawyers Association. Early in his career, he was elected to the prestigious American College of Trial Lawyers. He served on the Civil Rules Advisory Committee and on the Board of Governors of the Maine State Bar Association.

Always active in the community, Mr. Wright served as trustee and was active in alumni affairs for Maine Central Institute and Colby College. In past summers he coached Little League, Babe Ruth and American Legion Baseball. In 1999 Carl was inducted into the Maine Baseball Hall of Fame.
